The Ottawa 2023 Masters Indigenous Games (MIG) are expected to be the cultural and sporting event of the summer, highlighting Indigenous achievement from around the world. The Games will feature a mix of traditional and contemporary sports; a spectacular opening Gala; an interactive Cultural Festival open to the public; special nightly performances by world re-known, award-winning Indigenous performers; and a Closing Ceremony. The Ottawa 2023 MIG team is working hard to provide all participants and spectators with a uniquely enriching experience that celebrates and promotes Indigenous cultures and sport. Volunteers play a big role in achieving this. The Ottawa 2023 MIG cannot take place without you!
The inaugural 2018 MIG had more than 300 volunteers support the lead-up, set-up, delivery and take-down of the four-day event, which had more than 6,000 people in attendance. Volunteers were integral to the success of the Games and supported athletes, participants, visitors, and community leaders, with kindness and enthusiasm.
With close to 1,500 athletes expected to attend the Ottawa 2023 MIG, the Organizing Committee will be looking to recruit, train and schedule close to 600 volunteers.
